Rev. Dr. Stevenson Samuels, JP is the senoir pastor of the Waltham Park New Testament Church of God. He is a chaplain at the University of the West Indies and the University of Technology. His commitment to nation building has caused him to serve as former Chairman and now member for the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast Committee. He also sits on the National Executive Council of the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica.
He is currently Chairman for the Kingston Keswick Council and Convener of Jamaica Keswick, an initiative which seeks to bring the 9 Keswick Conventions under one umbrella.
His academic formation reflects a mix between the secular and the spiritual. This began with studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology followed by his pursuit of a degree in Economics and Management at the University of the West Indies. In preparation for ministry, he studied Counseling Psychology through the Caribbean Ministries programme at the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology. He also read for his doctorate at the Columbia Theological Seminary.
Over his adult years, Pastor Samuels has provided leadership and management in the fields of education, religion, music, engineering, counselling, youth development and male formation.
Rev. Samuels has been married to Larene for 31 years. They have two adult daughters – Stefanne and Abigail.
